At The Cherrycroft Practice, we offer a comprehensive approach to ADHD support for both diagnosis and post-diagnosis care.
ADHD Assessments
UNDERSTANDING THE WHOLE CHILD
An ADHD assessment should help you understand your child – not simply give you a diagnosis!
The Psychology part of the assessment is comprehensive and it includes – several questionnaires for home and school (Conner’s Questionnaire, Executive functioning, sensory profile and a mental health questionnaire), QbTesting, meetings with school and a school observation where needed. We also spend time talking to parents and the child/young person to fully understand the difficulties and concerns. Once we’ve completed the assessment we usually meet with parents and children and school to understand what we have found and we also look at strategies to support functioning regardless of whether a child gets a diagnosis. Our assessments are very much a mini intervention. Cost: £1200
Some families then wish to move to medication at which point we will refer to our Psychiatry partners to discuss medication (at additional cost)
ADHD Post-Diagnosis Support
Following an ADHD diagnosis, we provide a range of support tailored to both children and adults. From psychoeducation and academic coaching to therapeutic services and social skills development, our goal is to equip families with practical strategies to manage ADHD and improve day-to-day functioning. We also offer ongoing care, including counseling for emotional regulation, Occupational Therapy for executive functioning skills and sensory regulation. Often parents realise that they too may have ADHD once their child has been diagnosed, we can help with this journey too – have a look at our services for adults http://brightstead.cherrycroft.uk/
